The Texture Of Things

New Theme Time

August 19th, 2007

As much as I liked the purple snowflake template, I can’t take the limits on post length any more. I don’t know how to fix it, so I need a new template.

I like this one, but as with the other, the font is, what, 10 point? Dude, I’m freakin’ blind, so that’s got to change, but I’m not exactly sure how yet.

I’m sitting here parsing the code for font style and size info, and I’m finding nothing. I’m just not very literate when it comes to html. I’ll take any suggestion anyone has and I’ll take any hint on customization I get, as well. In comments or in email, either way, I’m open.

Also, there are some links that aren’t working yet, up on the top. I have to figure out where those things are and populate the links, or something. Am I even speaking English? Gah.

I like the blue — it looks really nice. I know you are still working out all the bugs, but then again, I liked the purple as well. :>)

Thanks, KLee. I’m sure it has nothing to do with blue being your favorite color… 😉

Don’t panic. It’s easy to fix. Just take the thingamabob and drag it over to the watchamacallit. Then turn the dial till it says, “Other” and hit enter. You will then get a drop down box. Highlight the one that says, “HUH?” and hit enter. That will give you a “Most Frequently Asked Questions” option. Go down till find the problem you are looking for. You do speak and read Farsi don’t you? Easy ain’t it?

Oh. There was my problem. I didn’t turn the dial to “Other”, I turned it to “Whah?”. I get it now. Thanks!

Damn stupid CSS–see, this is why I hate teh internets. I’m learning, though–if you need some help increasing the font size, let me know.

Oh, and I’m with Klee on the blue–that is, unless they have any charcoal gray design templates…

Oh sweet Jeebus, there are so many templates out there for – wait, what do I use? Word Press? Egad, I don’t keep up with the changes. So, yes. There are more charcoal grey templates than you can shake a mouse at.

While we’re on the topic of font size and template colors, I’d like to say this: I will never choose a template with light text on a dark background. This is my personal guarantee to all five of my readers. My eyeballs do not take kindly to that treatment. I get the aesthetics of it all, I just can’t read it. Because I’m old, I suppose.

    okay. back now.

Yes, steph, I still need help with the font. Husband told me to ask him, but I haven’t gotten around to it. I’m kind of mad at him after he told me the clouds in the new template remind him of Microsploft Windows. Jerk.

It would be really cool to take my blog name and animate it so it looks like it’s being sneezed out of the flower. Really capture my allergies as an aspect of my identity and stuff. But I don’t even know how to change the image yet.

    Font first. Image later.

For the record, I have managed to change all the font on this except the post text size.
